Cadet Colleges are special educational institutions of which plan is to make students proficient for leading the country and also act as skilled Army Officers. There are 12 Cadet Colleges in Bangladesh. Among these, nine are for boys and three are for girls. The plan to establish cadet colleges was to train the country's youth and introduce in them high moral, sound mental capacity, width of vision, physical strength, power of leadership and the capacity to run the rapidly expanding government administrative machinery. The cadet colleges are completely different from all existing types of secondary and higher secondary educational establishments and these clleges soon have became famous for their performance in terms of the brilliant results of their students in public examinations. Such brilliance is recognized mainly to rigorous scrutiny in intakes and the superior quality of learning.
