Unit-based admission test at RU

For the first year honors course under the academic session 2010-11, University of Rajshahi is going to launch unit-based admission test system instead of discipline-based.

Registrar Professor of RU, MA Bari, said that the 47 departments of the university would be grouped into 12 to 14 units. The new system will also check admission forgery. The RU authorities also decided to sell the admission forms through the mobile phone calls from any corner of the country. In addition, the admission seekers would get the admission forms online and the results will also be published online.  U nder the unit based system, students no longer need to come to the university campus for buying and submitting admission forms like the previous years.

'Public Health Nutrition' seminar at Primeasia University

Primeasia University arranged a Seminar on ‘Public Health Nutrition' with special reference to Zinc 31st July, 2010 at 10.00am. The Seminar was held at Seminar Library (Level-14), HBR Tower . The chief guest of the seminar was Professor Dr. Gias uddin Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of Primeasia University. Dr. S.K. Roy, Senior Scientist, Clinical Sciences Division, ICDDR,B, Mohakhali, Dhaka was the Key Note Speaker. Dr. MA Mannan, National Nutrition Advisor, FAO, Dhaka, Dr. Lalita Bhattacharjee, Nutritionist, FAO, Dhaka and Professor Dr. Morshed Khandoker, Head, Department of Biochemistry, Primeasia University were the Discussants. Prof. Dr. AJM Omar Faruque, Head, Department of Public Health Nutrition, Primeasia University chaired the Seminar. Mr. Abul Kashem Molla, Registrar, Primeasia University welcomed the audiences and Professor A.Y.Sk. Feroz Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Head, Department of Pharmacy delivered the vote of thanks.
