History of Middlesex University:
The history of this university began in the late 1880s when two educational institutions opened their doors in north London. St. Katherine's College and the Hornsey School of Arts and Crafts would both become part of Middlesex Polytechnic, which was founded in 1973. Middlesex University is awarded the title 'University' by Royal Assent in 1992. UK 's Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) rated this university 'excellent' in academic quality, student support services and library facilities. The 2001 National Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) judged Middlesex University as a top modern university in London for research and sixth nationally among modern universities. The University is proud to be among very few universities which have been awarded three Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education in Work-based Learning in 1996, Education Technology in 1998 and its outstanding, internationally acclaimed Flood Hazard Research Centre in 2000. For Middlesex University 's work in International Trade Enterprise, it received a Queen's Award in 2003. The 2004 Guardian League table ranked Middlesex University among the top 20 of UK Universities.
Campuses of Middlesex University:
Middlesex University consists of five campuses across north London. Each of the campuses has a unique atmosphere and is focused on teaching in a specific subject area and each a centre of academic expertise. The five campuses are:
