Apply Procedure:

The prescribed form (Pink form) is to be collected from Pubali Bank Ltd., Shahbagh, Avenue Model Branch, Dhaka on payment of Tk. 2000/= (non-refundable) to the BSMMU Examination Fund, SB A/C No.13692.

The prescribe form is to be collected from web site www.bsmmu.org & Pubali Bank Ltd., Shahabagh Avenue Model Branch, Dhaka on payment of US $ 30.00 or equivalent BDT (non-refundable) to the BSMMU Examination Fund SB A/C No.13692.

 

 

 

Requirements:

For Part A:

1. Applicants must have MBBS/BDS/equivalent degree, one year internship, completion of one year after internship & BMDC registration.

2. Candidates serving in BCS (Health) Cadre, Govt. Projects, BSMMU & autonomous bodies have to complete minimum two years of service before being eligible for deputation/study leaves as per existing rules of those organizations. So, candidates of those organizations who will not have completed minimum two years of service are advised not to apply.

3. Candidates serving in BCS (Health) Cadre, Govt. Projects & autonomous bodies should apply through proper channel even in advance copy.

4. Candidates serving in BSMMU can apply for admission into the MD/MS, Part A & FCPS Part-I courses. They will have to apply through proper channel and the rules of the University will be applicable for them.

5. The applicants should not be above 45 years of age.

6. Written admission test will be based on Basic Medical Sciences (Anatomy, Pharmacology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology etc.) & faculty based questions (MCQ), Time: 180 minutes, Total mark: 200, Cut off mark: 100.

For Part B:

The applicants must be registered with the BMDC.

The applicants should not be above 45 years of age.

Candidates holding the following qualifications in the discipline i.e MD-General Medicine/ Paediatrics, MS (General Surgery), FCPS, MRCP, MRCOG may apply for admission into Part-B, courses as mention categorically below:
Candidates holding any of the above qualification in General Surgery may apply for admission into Part-B MS in General Surgery/ Neuro-Surgery/ Orthopaedics Surgery/ Paediatric Surgery & Urology courses.

Candidates holding any of the above qualifications in General Medicine/ Internal Medicine may apply for admission into Part-B of MD courses in Cardiology/ Dermatology & Venereology/ Gastroenterology/ Hepatology/ Internal Medicine/ Nephrology/Neorology/ Rheumatology courses.

Candidates holding any of the above qualifications in Paediatrics may apply for admission into Part-B of MD Course of General Paediatrics (Neonatology, Paediatrics, Paediatric Gasteroenterology, Paediatrics Haematology & Oncology, Paediatric Nephrology).

Candidates holding a qualification of FCPS, FRCS, MRCOG in any one of the following discipline may apply for MD/MS Part-B of the same discipline i.e Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.

Candidates holding MD-Dermatology & Venereology, FCPS Dermatology & Venereology or equivalent degree from recognized institutions may be enrolled in Part-B.

Candidates holding MD- Radiology & Imaging, FCPS (Radiology & Imaging) or equivalent degree from recognized institutions may be enrolled in Part-B.

Required Documents:

Foreign students to collect NOC (‘No Objection Certificate') from their respective Mission / Embassy in Bangladesh and other relevant organizations and WHO.

Their MBBS/BDS/equivalent Certificate/degree will be require to get equivalency recognition from BDMC (Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council).

They must have an IELTS score of minimum 6.5 Internship certificates (if any) received foreign intuitions will have to be accepted by the departmental committee of this University. They should not be over 45 years of age.

All eligible candidates shall have to appear before the interview board of the respective department of the University.

 

 

 

Special Note:

For Part A:

• Order of first posting in the government service (when applicable). Appointment letter & Joining report at the first place of posting in Government service/BSMMU/Autonomous bodies (where applicable). Last deputation order (where applicable). Money receipt along with application.
• The applicants with the above documents is to reach the office of the Controller of Examination, Room No. 105 (1st floor), Block ‘B', Bangabandhu Sheikh Mudib Medical University, Shahabagh, Dhaka-1000.
• No candidates can apply more than one course. Candidates already in any postgraduate course can not apply. No Government, autonomous & MSMMU candidates will be considered for applicantion within two years of completing deputation/service on or before 31st December, 09 unless she/he passed that course examination and is now seeking a deputation for post-graduation in a related subject.
• Only eligible candidates will be issued Admit Card for the written Admission Test. Candidates proving inaccurate information whenever detected will be rejected. There will be no ‘Carry On' system in Part-A Course.
• Candidates after passing Part-A course will have to join in Part-B within 30 days for BSMMU, Autonomous bodies & private candidates. The candidates working in Govt. Institution will join within 07 days after receiving the order of Education Leave/ Deputation, which has to be obtained within 60 days of provisional result publication of Part-A courses.
• Admission and examination procedures for Part-A & Part-B residency courses will be followed as per rules & regulations approved by the syndicate from time to time. Admit Cards are to be collected by the candidates in person fro the office of the Controller of Examinations, Room no:-105, Block ‘B', BSMMU, Shahabagh, Dhaka, during working hours (9:00 AM to 02:30 PM).
• No candidates will be allowed to enter into the examinations hall without admit card. Each candidate is requested to carry a ball-point pen, 2B pencil, good quality eraser and a pencil-sharpener to the examination hall.
• No candidates will be allowed to enter into the examination room 15 minutes after the examination starts. Mobile phones will not be allowed in Examination hall even in off mode. Name of selected government candidates will be sent to the appropriate authority for future processing. The University will not be responsible for deputation.

For Part B:

• Eligible candidates will be notified to appear before an interview board. They are not required to sit for written test. Original document must be produced at the time of interview. Separate lists of the provisionally selected government and non-government candidates will be shown on the notice board outside the office of Controller of Examination of BSMMU, Dhaka or Web site www.bsmmu.org
• Documents mentioned for admission in general. Attested photocopy of certificate of post graduate qualifications. Last deputation order (if any) indicating completion date of deputation and whether in any course he is pursuing.
