Decoration and maintenance of bathroom accessories

Your bathroom is a place that allows you to relax in privacy. To achieve this effect, you need a healthy bathroom.

Generally, you should give your bathroom a major clean once a week, but still allowing a few minutes everyday for little clean up. This will certainly help keep your space in the finest condition and allow your bathroom fittings and equipment to stay fresh and beautiful for a longer period.

Bathroom decoration is an important consideration for many. Sometimes a little change can direct to a spectacular change. It is not possible to change the furniture frequently or re-paint your bathroom. But sometimes a good clean can give your living space a new look. The bathroom is sometimes the most ignored room on the cleaning list. However, there are more surface areas that need serious cleaning along with the drains, toilet bowls, basins, bath tubs and shower stalls.

Shower

The best way to keep a shower area in the best possible condition is to clean it right after use. This doesn't mean getting down on your hands and knees and scrubbing everyday. The idea is that the hot steam combined with the water helps to loosen the dirt on tiles, the floor and the shower doors. Clean the glass shower doors after use to decrease soap foam build-up. On the weekend or your chosen big day to clean, spray with glass cleaner and wipe down with crushed newspaper, keeping in mind to keep the area well circulated with air, especially when you use chemical cleaners. You can, for a more advanced approach, mix 1 cup of vinegar with 5 cups of water, and spray on as you would with a regular glass cleaner, and then wash immediately. Clean down tiles and walls with a sponge or cloth dampened with water and vinegar to prevent spot and mildew in the shower. The vinegar will clean the walls and hinder the growth of mildew. If your tub has attached faucets, always start cleaning this first.

Sink:

Clean your ceramic and glass sinks only with regular dish-washing liquid. Wipe down with a soft sponge and rinse with warm water. Do not rub very hard so that not to damage the shiny surfaces. You should also pay special attention to the plug holes and overflows. Clean with an old toothbrush to get rid of mildew or other build up and pour some bleach in once a week to maximize germ control.

Accessories:

Use a spray cleaner around the faucets and outside the tap, and clean with an old toothbrush for best results. Otherwise you can soak a paper towel in vinegar and leave on and around inflexible stains or hardy places around taps. Leave the area for about an hour and wash with water. Shower heads can become congested by mineral deposits from the water, over long periods of time.

A huge part of the genuine cleaning process is for killing the germs and bacteria that may build up over time. Bacteria are also one of the main reasons in creating odors and the build up of mildew. The best way to avoid all these troubles is to clean your bathroom regularly.
